Introduction To Aceclo Plus Tablet

Aceclo Plus Tablet is a combination medicine used to treat pain. It consists of two painkillers: aceclofenac and paracetamol, which reduce inflammation and block pain signals. This medication is usually prescribed for joint disorders (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.), ear/dental pain, menstrual cramps, headaches and so on.

Aceclo Plus Tablet should be taken as advised by your doctor. The dosage may be adjusted depending on your pain level. It is best to take them whole after your meal with ample water to avoid stomach discomfort. To prevent adverse effects, take it as per your doctor’s prescription.

Side effects of Aceclo Plus Tablet include stomach discomfort, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, heartburn, drowsiness and loss of appetite. They typically last for a short period and should not be of any concern. Contact your doctor if they persist or worsen.

Uses of Aceclo Plus Tablet

Aceclo Plus Tablet is a combination pain medication used to treat mild-moderate pain. It helps alleviate all kinds of general pain that one might experience, including dental pain, ear pain, headaches and fever. This medication is also prescribed in cases of joint pain and disorders like rheumatoid arthritis, menstrual cramps and osteoarthritis.

It consists of 2 active ingredients: aceclofenac and paracetamol. They act as painkillers, antipyretics (medicines that lower body temperature) and anti-inflammatory drugs by inhibiting pain signals in our nervous system and reducing inflammation in our tissue.

Aceclo Plus Tablet helps people with primary dysmenorrhea (pain in the abdomen in women during periods), musculoskeletal pain (injuries or pulled muscles), fever and arthritis. It alleviates pain and most of the discomfort associated with these conditions and allows people to lead an everyday life and do their daily tasks without the hindrance of pain.

How Aceclo Plus Tablet works

Aceclo Plus Tablet contains two medicines: aceclofenac and paracetamol. They lower pain, swelling, inflammation and fever. Let’s look at what they do individually to understand how they work when combined.

Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) medicine. It does three things in our body: it lowers pain, reduces inflammation and stops your temperature from increasing. It targets natural chemicals called cyclo-oxygenase enzymes (COX enzymes). Aceclofenac blocks the effect of these COX enzymes, specifically COX-2, and stops them from producing prostaglandins. Thus the inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2-mediated prostaglandins occurs.

Prostaglandins are chemical substances related to pain. They are made at the site of injury or inflammation. When they are blocked or inhibited by medicines like aceclofenac or paracetamol, the pain sensation is reduced.

Paracetamol, also known as acetaminophen, is a non-narcotic analgesic-antipyretic agent. It means it reduces both pain and fever. It works specifically by targeting cyclooxygenase-3-mediated prostaglandins. When compared to aceclofenac, however, it is a weak anti-inflammatory agent.

Combined, aceclofenac and paracetamol in Aceclo Plus Tablet collectively inhibit both cyclooxygenase-3 mediated prostaglandins and cyclooxygenase-2 mediated prostaglandins to offer a superior pain relieving effect.

Dosage

Always take Aceclo Plus Tablet medicine as prescribed by your doctor. Do not consume more than the prescribed dose. Take this medicine as a whole with ample water. Do not chew or crush. You may take this medicine after food to reduce the chances of stomach upset. You may feel slightly sleepy/drowsy after taking this medication.

Take any missed medication as soon as you recall if you have missed a dose. If it is time for your next dose, ignore the missed dose and continue with the next one. To compensate for a missed dose, avoid taking twice the amount.

Taking more than the prescribed dose of Aceclo Plus Tablet over a long period may lead to overdose and acetaminophen intoxication. It is a serious condition in which too much paracetamol is in your body, leading to hepatotoxicity (acute hepatic necrosis) and rarely renal tubular necrosis.
