How It Works:

Hydroxyzine works by blocking histamine (H1) receptors, reducing allergic reactions, and acting on the central nervous system to provide a calming (sedative) effect.

Dosage (Pediatric):

Usually based on weight and age

Typical dose: 0.6 mg/kg/dose, divided 2–3 times/day

In rare cases: blurred vision, constipation
